Our Commitment

City Central Mosque work closely with the Muslim community, funeral associations and Muslim funeral directors to help arrange and manage the funerals of your loved ones.

We can advise on all aspects of the funeral and burial arrangements. We can conduct the preparation of the deceased (Gushl), funeral prayer services (Janazah) that are held at the Mosque and we can assist with burials. Our Mosque also has full mortuary facilities.

The Mosque ensures that all service aspects of a funeral are carried out as best as possible
before the departed is taken to the graveyard.

Please note any costs related to burial plots and undertaker fees are to be paid by the families. If you are a funeral committee member please contact them and make arrangements for reimbursement.

Khatams & Kuls
Khatams’ & ‘Kuls’ facilities can be held at our community centre adjacent to the masjid.

Funeral Costs and Associations
Please note any fees due to the funeral directors or the city council are to be covered by the family of the deceased. These costs may be covered by a funeral association if your loved one had membership.

We provide :

  • Sitting Halls (Separate for men & women).
  • Car parking facilities.
  • Easily accessible from all parts of Maidenhead.
  • Washing facilities.
  • ‘Khatams’ & ‘Kuls’ facilities.

Our funeral services contact can assist in providing the following:

Transporting the deceased from home or hospital to funeral services

  • Obtaining cause of death/disease free certificate from GP or hospital
  • Obtaining death certificate from the registration office
  • Obtaining Coroner’s report for sending bodies abroad
  • Transportation from home to mortuary – cemetery or airport
  • Assisting in travelling arrangements

If you require membership to a funeral association there are currently two funeral associations that operate locally to the Mosque. Other associations may also be available in your area.
