Visits & Tours
- Visits and Tours for schools, organisations and individuals are available between
Monday Thursday 10:30am -2:00PM.
- 14 days notice is required.
- (Tours are approximately 40mins).
What to Expect
- We have a free car park large enough for coaches. ST1 3AY large blue gates.
- Once you have parked up please make your way to the entrance and advise the children
to take off their shoes and place them onto the shoe racks provided.
- You will then be welcomed by the Imam who will take you into the daily prayer hall.
- Our Imam will recite the Holy Quran and then go through the basics of Islam covering the 5 pillars.
- There will then be an opportunity to ask questions.
- Finally there will be a quick walk around the mosque and an explanation of the unique features and design.
- We will always tailor the tours to ensure its suitable for the age group.

Unguided Visits and Tours
If you don’t require any guidance but would like to visit the mosque we normally suggest to attend close to our prayer “Jammah” times which can be found on our home page.
RISK ASSESSMENTS AND HEALTH AND SAFETY
Please remember that you are responsible for doing your own risk assessment. If you make a
preparatory visit you will be advised of any important points to look out for. Please do not ask any of
our representatives to check or sign any sections of your risk assessment form as they do not have
any responsibility to do so.
Group leaders must take responsibility for their group and supervise their pupils or students during the
visit. Teachers must ensure that they are closely supervised at all times while on site. As part of risk
assessment, group leaders should check with their Local Education Authority or employer about their
own insurance and health and safety requirements.
Dress Code and Etiquette
Modesty, cleanliness and purity are the basic tenets on which one’s appearance are
based for presenting oneself before Allah Almighty. Based on these the following
aspects need to be kept in mind while visiting the City Central Mosque, be it for prayer
or for simple observation or for lessons.
- All parts of the arms and legs should be modestly covered.
- It is not permissible to wear only T shirts/vests or shorts when visiting the Mosque.
- Women and girls should wear modest full length skirts or loose trousers (If possible)
- When entering the mosque prayer halls, women should cover their hair and head with a scarf (If possible)
- Everyone would need to take their shoes off when entering the prayer halls.
- Please speak softly whilst inside the mosque and prayer halls therefore one should refrain from shouting and loud laughter within the prayer halls.
- If there are copies of the Quran in Arabic, do not touch them without Wudhu or ablution.
- You should not have on your possession any alcoholic beverage or food containing pork or pork-related substance.
- Dogs are strictly not allowed within the precincts of the mosque.
- Switch off your mobile phones, beepers, pagers or any other device which would cause distraction.
- Please seek permission from your guide before taking photographs or making a video recording.
- No food or drink to be consumed within the prayer halls.
- Remind the group that the Mosque is a public building and one should behave respectfully within the mosque grounds and prayer halls.
